Essay regarding Slaughter Home

Terrible Destruction of Dresden

Slaughter-House-Five written by Kurt Vonnegut can be described as novel with regards to a character named Billy Pilgrim, who was a Prisoner of War in WWII who also fought through the bombing of Dresden in Germany.  Since the battle Billy is never the same coming back home.  He constantly moves back in time to the memories of being in Dresden and how terrible the war was.  Billy has insane time travelling stories through the book producing readers imagine he is crazy. Kurt Vonnegut himself was obviously a Prisoner of War during the bombing of Dresden and he too suffered considerably during his time.  Throughout the book the readers can produce a relation to if this book was based on Vonnegut's experience in Dresden and using Billy as a personality to portray his experiences.  Vonnegut is definitely the narrator from the story and tells the story as first-person and third person points of views.  Vonnegut employing his own experiences and stories in first person point of view in a few chapters makes all of us believe this guide is about him.  Many authorities argue about this topic applying evidence in the book and evaluating it to his lifestyle, but we do not have an aligned forward answer.  His role as a narrator plays a significant role because he tells the storyplot of the thoughts he remembers from the bombing.  It can easily paint an image in the reader's minds just how insane and dreadful the bombing was.  This gives mystery and questions whilst reading the novel and continue to ton questions if Vonnegut was using Billy to explain his story.  In my opinion having Vonnegut as the narrator to this new makes myself believe this book was about his life history in Dresden, but applying Billy as a character laying out him.  Also, it's hard to use your self explaining within a book all of the hardships and troubles about being in war.  Vonnegut has to bear in mind all the awful memories that took place being in warfare which is why he uses Billy to explain his story.  There is nothing at all beautiful or perhaps glorious with regards to a massacre while Vonnegut...
