I step off the coach in Bombay, India. I look down at my ft where We notice my personal feet covered in dirt from the dirty ground that resides under me. The dust is swirling about my ankles like a peaceful storm and it is then that we notice the silent around myself. So small , tugging at the very lower part of my shirt can be how I initially noticed her. She is a, quiet woman and she actually is staring up at myself – deceased on. She's begging intended for attention. In the beginning, I i am not sure what to make of her. I look at her, very long. I cannot help but see her protruding stomach and her jutting bones that signal both starvation and desperation. Her clothes are tattered, and sculpted, and they generate life's gratitude become true. I glance around to see hundreds of equally children and adults seeking the same way. The lady pulls her hands with her mouth signaling she is famished and requesting food. It had been then, within a mere minute, life seized around me.

These people had been malnourished, sickly, underserved, and lacking the necessities of life. I remember thinking just how lucky I actually am to achieve the simple joys of a warm shower, shelter, clean apparel, and the capacity to visit a doctor. That is the moment I knew employed in an underserved community is usually my phoning. I wanted to aid these people and give for them. I wanted to provide them the health care they necessary. From the small girls' sole touch, towards the harsh reality that many individuals are starving and lacking healthcare, this instant alone helped define my personal experience with underserved communities.

When I think of underserved areas my mind moves back to thoughts of the young daughter in Bombay. To me, an underserved community is one which lacks the fundamental necessities of life. Communities are miserable of money, food, water, and equal prospect. My journeys abroad to many underprivileged countries have help prepare me personally to work in disadvantaged communities by teaching me an understanding of what these people move through.
